Nicole Ari Parker, an American actor, who has appeared on film and TV, as well as on stage is best known for playing Teri Joseph, a flamboyant attorney featured in Showtime's Soul Food. The family was born in Mumbai, India and raised in Nigeria from 7 years old, Contractor was well-versed in world travels and a variety of cultures at a very young age. Contractor was offered the opportunity to take part in the conservatory, where the top eight men and four females are selected to take a crash course of 20 weeks on classical theater which she eagerly took. Her place in the upcoming production was secured, and she was offered the part in the play as Hermia.
