Maureen Denise McCormick, the sole daughter from Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her father taught school and her mom was a domestic worker. Michael Dennis, Kevin and Dennis are her three older brothers. McCormick began singing and dancing at an early age and frequently performed puppet shows in front of children in her area. Her rise to fame as a fairytale started when she won her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest at the age of six, which prompted an inquiry from an agent for talent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency who inquired whether she wanted to work in show business. McCormick was chosen to play in her debut major part in 1964, in an tv commercial featuring Mattels latest doll Baby Pattaburp. The year that followed, she appeared in another commercial that aired on TV for the doll Chatty Cathy. After that, she was commissioned by La Jolla Playhouse to play the role of the character Wind It up until It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick auditioned to play the eldest daughter of the trio of towheaded girls on The Brady Bunch. The show was a collaboration between Florence Henderson, Robert Reed and a new blended family. The show ran for five years. In her book Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice which was published in 2008 McCormick admitted that in the fifth season, she nearly lost her virginity to her onscreen co-star and brother Barry Williams. In 2008, she revealed in her book Here's the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice that in season five on the show, she nearly lost her virginity to actor Barry Williams. It was likely that we would have a romantic relationship, said she. The timing, however, wasn't right.
